Every year, CBCGH appointed a group of officers to handle church
affairs together with our pastoral staff. The minimum number of offices
is three, namely, the Chairperson, Secretary and Treasurer. The term
of each deacon called is two years.
Based on the needs of our church,
the number of deacons called to serve on the board every year can
vary. Upon examining the recent growth of our church ministries and with
much prayer, the deacon board came up with a new organization
structure to meet the needs of our church. The deacons were assigned
to various ministry areas accordingly:
Chairperson
Vice Chairperson / Executive Committee
Treasurer
Secretary
Mandarin Ministry
Cantonese Ministry
English Ministry
The structure consists of shared ministries, special projects and three
congregational ministries organized by language, Mandarin, Cantonese
and English. Each congregational ministry includes discipleship, worship,
fellowship, Bible study, outreach and caring ministries. They will
be led by either deacons or co-workers.
We know that we cannot do all
these by ourselves. The Body of Christ works together to build the
Kingdom of God. Our Lord will lead us as we face the many tasks ahead
of us in 2005 – with our senior
pastor leaving for the mission field, with our church building plan
moving forward, and with all our ministry areas growing tremendously.
To
challenge ourselves to serve God and our church better, we are establishing
specific goals/objectives for each of us. The roles, responsibilities
and the goals will be shared with you later. We would like to ask you
to support us in prayer and in action.
