AWANA and VBS – FRIDAY NIGHT CHILDREN PROGRAM
Last year is our 13th year for the AWANA program and Summer VBS at our church. In review of our children program on Friday evenings, we must give all the thanks to our Lord. We had a very busy program running throughout the whole year:
AWANA – Friday 7:30PM to 9:30PM
1. Cubbies – 3’s Up to Pre-K
2. Sparks – Kindergarten, 1st grade, 2nd grade
3. T&T – 3rd grade to 6th grade
4. Trek – 7th & 8th Grade
We pray and thank the Lord for all our children ministry key leaders and helpers, for their great work in evangelizing the gospel to the AWANA children.
Timothy 2:15: Approved Workmen are not ashamed.
VBS – Vacation Bible School – Summer program
We have been using the GROUP Publishing VBS curriculum for the past 12 years during July – August. Last year the theme for VBS was Maker Fun Factory and the truth teaching is – We are create by God and built for a purpose. The activities including crafts, singing, skits, creative snacks, and games stations to help children better understand Biblical main points and God’s words. The activities usually attract our regular church attending children as well as visiting children from area towns. This summer we had about 30 kids participating in VBS. And our youth group teens and homecoming college students served as leaders. A Big Thank You to Angel Wu and the high school students who stepped up to the leadership role this year since Belle was in and out of town during those times for her overseas mission trips.
Every year our church will host a Hallelujah Night celebration event; this has been going on in the past 12 years. This is special celebration event to provide an alternative for our church families to celebrate and praise our God in a safe and meaningful environment in lien of participating in any Halloween activities’ in the secular world. Last year, Hallelujah Night was on a Tuesday evening. We started the night with a delicious Chinese dinner and pizzas. Then we sang praise hymns to glorify the One and Only True God, again like last year all the children and their families participated in the “Operation Christmas Child” program and packed and wrapped their shoeboxes, filled them with goodies, gifts, and each child wrote a card/letter and put into the shoeboxes. May the Lord bless those children who received these special gifts! Also, we pray that the gospel seeds had been planted in their hearts.
John 12:46, I have come into the world as a light, so that no one who believes in me should stay in darkness.
